DeSaulnier Applauds U.S. Surgeon General's Call for Warning Labels on Social Media
Research has indicated that heavy social media usage can have a negative impact on young people's mental health. As a strong advocate for youth mental health, Congressman DeSaulnier was pleased to hear the U.S. Surgeon General's call to place warning labels on social media platforms. Addressing this issue similarly to how we've historically addressed other threats to public health would be a huge step toward ending the mental health crisis among our nation's youth. The Senate recently held a hearing to discuss recent safety incidents at Boeing and to hear directly from Boeing CEO David Calhoun. As a member of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, DeSaulnier is committed to keeping the flying public safe and ensuring there is accountability at Boeing. Celebrating Juneteenth
Our office celebrated Juneteenth throughout the month with the cities of Oakley, Antioch, Pleasant Hill, and Concord. It was wonderful to join with the community in commemorating this historic day with delicious food, live music, and vendors.
Central San Launches New Solar Array Project
The Central Contra Costa Sanitary District (Central San) announced the launch of its new solar array project, which is intended to reduce emissions and save approximately $6 million over the next 25 years. Our office was excited to celebrate this new project and join Central San for the flipping of the switch!
Eric Volta Retires from Liberty Union High School District After 24 Years of Service
Liberty Union High School District (LUHSD) Superintendent Eric Volta is retiring from the district after over two decades of devoted service. We were proud to join Mr. Volta's last board meeting and to present him with a Congressional Record in honor of his tireless work on behalf of LUHSD students.
