The DeSaulnier Digest: CA-10 Commemorates Memorial Day
Memorial Day is an opportunity for us to honor those who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. We attended Memorial Day events around the district to pay tribute to the brave men and women who laid down their lives for our nation. As we mark Memorial Day, we are proud to honor their memories and restate our commitment to supporting servicemembers and military families.

Sincerely,
Mark DeSaulnier
Member of Congress

LEGISLATIVE UPDATES
DeSaulnier Votes Against Bills to Advance Misguided Policy on Cryptocurrency
While cryptocurrency has improved digital systems of finance, there is still a need to ensure adequate consumer protections. Last week, the House considered two bills that would advance misguided policy on cryptocurrency. H.R. 4763 would regulate cryptocurrency as a commodity, eliminating a number of important consumer protections that apply to securities and H.R. 5403 would prevent federal innovation in digital currency. Despite Congressman DeSaulnier's opposition, H.R. 4763 passed the House by a vote of 279-to-136 and H.R. 5403 passed the House by a vote of 216-to-192.
