The DeSaulnier Digest: Community Events Recap
We just finished up another busy week in Contra Costa, with meetings, roundtables, and a town hall with Congressman Mike Thompson. It was wonderful to engage with so many of you on the issues of gun violence, climate change and wildfire prevention, protecting our democracy, and more. If you missed the town hall or would like to rewatch it, click here or on the image below.
Sincerely,
Mark DeSaulnier

IN THE COMMUNITY
Congressman DeSaulnier Hosts Local Restaurant Roundtable
Last week, Congressman DeSaulnier met directly with owners of restaurants across Contra Costa to hear their experiences and challenges throughout the past year, how government relief has helped, and what more still needs to be done. As a former restaurant owner himself, the Congressman knows how important restaurants are to our community and is committed to ensuring they are supported as we come out of the pandemic.
IN THE NEWS
Congressman DeSaulnier Joins Justine Waldman of KRON4
Despite Republican obstruction, House Democrats haven't stopped working for the changes Americans overwhelmingly support. I joined Justine Waldman of KRON 4 News to discuss our efforts to protect voting rights, push for commonsense gun safety reform, and tackle climate change, as well as my recent town hall with Congressman Thompson. POST OF THE WEEK
GUN VIOLENCE AWARENESS
Last week, we observed Wear Orange for Gun Violence Awareness Day to honor victims and survivors of gun violence. The loss we experience in this country everyday and the statistics below highlight the urgent need to pass commonsense gun safety reforms.
