The DeSaulnier Digest: DeSaulnier Office Receives Constituent Services Award
As both a former small business owner and a longtime public servant, I am committed to providing first-rate constituent service, restoring trust in government, and being accessible and accountable to you. For these efforts, I was proud to be recognized by the Congressional Management Foundation, a nonpartisan nonprofit whose mission is to build trust and effectiveness in Congress, as the winner of the 2023 Democracy Award in Constituent Accessibility and Accountability.
My office looks forward to continuing to serve the people of Contra Costa and Alameda Counties. If we can be of assistance to you or your family, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Walnut Creek Office at (925) 933-2660.
Sincerely,

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
Congressman DeSaulnier Introduces the Cancer Care Planning and Communication Act
As a cancer survivor himself, Congressman DeSaulnier knows just how important it is that patients are well-informed about their diagnosis and feel like partners in their own care. Advancements in medical research have delivered new treatments that are helping more Americans beat cancer, but survivors are often left with a range of impacts on finances, mental health, employment, and other facets of life. Congressman DeSaulnier introduced the Cancer Care Planning and Communication Act (H.R. 5183) to help doctors develop treatment plans for cancer patients and survivors, which would in turn ensure that these individuals are better prepared for their future health care needs.
