Congressman DeSaulnier Continues Public Safety Listening Tour Across CA-10
Last week, Mark continued his ongoing Public Safety Listening Tour series by meeting and riding along with first responders in our community from the Concord Police Department, Oakley Police Department, and Contra Costa Fire Protection District. At each of these visits, Mark discussed the local and federal partnerships that are critical to keeping CA-10 safe.
Mark Presents Federal Funding for Two Projects in East Contra Costa County
Congressman DeSaulnier presented federal funding checks totaling more than $3 million to the Diablo Water District and the Contra Costa Transportation Authority for projects in East Contra Costa County. Mark secured more than $1 million for Diablo Water District in Oakley to reinforce its water infrastructure to ensure safety during disasters like seismic events. He also delivered nearly $2 million to CCTA to develop a network of smart traffic signals between Antioch and Oakley to improve commute times and reduce congestion.
Congressman DeSaulnier Meets with Faculty and Students at DVC San Ramon
As a senior member of the Committee on Education and Workforce, Mark visited Diablo Valley College's San Ramon campus as part of his ongoing Education Listening Tour. While there, he met with faculty, students, and staff to discuss the challenges they are facing and the ways federal support can help meet the needs of the community.
Mark Tours UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Outpatient Center in San Ramon

Mark Introduces Bipartisan Bill to Hold Big Tech Accountable
Over the last 20 years, addictive social media platforms littered with harmful and abusive content have contributed to an explosion in diagnosed mental health disorders among youth. Last week, Congressman DeSaulnier and Rep. Jimmy Patronis (R-FL) introduced bipartisan legislation to address this issue. The Sunset Section 230 Act (H.R. 10332) would repeal protections that currently shield online platforms, including social media sites, from liability for content posted by users. By allowing families and victims to pursue legal claims against these platforms more readily, the bill would ensure that big tech companies are held accountable when they fail to protect their young users.
