Mark Tours Habitat for Humanity Housing in Walnut Creek
Congressman DeSaulnier toured Esperanza Place, a new affordable housing development in Walnut Creek built by Habitat for Humanity. Mark helped secure federal funding for the project and was involved in it while on the County Board of Supervisors.

Congressman DeSaulnier Presents Federal Funding Check to Central San
Earlier this year, Mark secured more than $16 million in federal funding for projects to benefit CA-10, including Central San. Last week, he visited Central San in Martinez to deliver a check for more than $1 million to upgrade their water treatment facility's ultraviolet disinfection technology and ensure safe water for Contra Costa residents for years to come.

Mark Proposes Constitutional Amendment to Guarantee Quality Public Education for All
Almost every state constitution guarantees the right to an education, but no such right is in the U.S. Constitution. To ensure that education is prioritized and students have equal access across the nation, last week Congressman DeSaulnier authored a Constitutional amendment (H.J. Res 208) to enshrine the right to a high-quality public education at the federal level. The amendment would affirm the federal government's obligation to ensure that every citizen receives a world-class education and support the federal role in education policy and funding.
Congressman DeSaulnier Reintroduces Bill to Invest in Sustainable Transportation
Congressman DeSaulnier recently reintroduced the Incentivizing Value Capture for Greener Transportation Act (H.R. 10019), legislation designed to help communities fund transportation improvements by encouraging value capture financing around infrastructure projects. The bill would support local governments in using the increased property values generated by transportation investments to help pay for transit, pedestrian, bicycle, and other sustainable transportation projects. By creating new financing opportunities, the legislation aims to reduce congestion, improve mobility, and build cleaner, more connected communities.
