The DeSaulnier Digest: On the Floor, In Committee, and At Home

DeSaulnier Digest

Last week, our nation witnessed another shocking incident of gun violence. From the assassination of Minnesota state representative Melissa Hortman earlier this summer to the killing of Charlie Kirk, we must categorically reject political violence and recognize it as a threat to our democracy.

In the aftermath of these events, I am more committed than ever to healing our country from division and continuing my work in Congress to pass commonsense gun safety reforms. As always, if I can ever be of assistance to you or your family, please do not hesitate to contact my office.

Sincerely,

Mark DeSaulnier
Member of Congress

IN COMMITTEE

DeSaulnier Denounces Administration's Attacks on Working People
Due to the Trump Administration's assault on the rights and protections of workers, the health and safety of working Americans today is under increasing threat. Rather than discussing how the Administration has been undoing years of progress for American workers, recently the House Education & Workforce Committee's Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions held a hearing targeting labor unions. As the top Democrat on the Subcommittee, Congressman DeSaulnier highlighted the diversity of the labor movement in the United States, the movement's history as a leading force countering antisemitism and other forms of prejudice, and the actions that the Administration has been taking that undermine protections for workers.
