I am excited to share another opportunity to make your voice heard at our town hall in Antioch on Tuesday, August 11th from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., where I will share updates on my work to represent you in Congress and take your questions.

Mark Meets with Small Business Owners in San Ramon
As a former small business owner, Congressman DeSaulnier has made Business Listening Tours a regular part of his District Work Periods. Last week, Mark sat down with the owners of four small businesses in San Ramon, Heller Jewelers, Meyhouse, La Vie Nail Bar, and The Quirky Crow Bookshop, to discuss federal support for Main Street America.

Congressman DeSaulnier Connects with Contra Costa Healthcare Leaders
Mark recently met with healthcare leaders at the San Ramon Regional Medical Center and John Muir Health to discuss his work to restore healthcare funding in the wake of the Big Ugly Bill's cuts and address the underlying causes of costly medical care. As the top Democrat on the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions, Mark recently introduced legislation to address rising healthcare costs and protect Americans from insurance claim denials. Mark Visits Concord Farmers' Market
Congressman DeSaulnier joined CA-10 residents last week at the Concord Farmers' Market, where he met with vendors and community members and discussed USDA grant funding to support local farms.

Congressman DeSaulnier Continues Education Listening Tour at KinderCare
As a senior member of the Education and Workforce Committee and advocate for high quality affordable early childhood education, Mark continued his Education Listening Tour series at KinderCare in Concord. While at KinderCare, Mark visited several classrooms, including one where he read to the class.

Congressman DeSaulnier Introduces Legislation to Protect Offshore Oil and Gas Worker Whistleblowers
Oil and gas workers are often subjected to dangerous work environments, but those who work offshore are not afforded whistleblower protections when reporting serious health and safety violations. Congressman DeSaulnier introduced the Offshore Oil and Gas Worker Whistleblower Protection Act (H.R. 9947), which would protect workers from retaliation for blowing the whistle on dangerous practices that could result in significant environmental or safety impacts.
