The DeSaulnier Digest: Join our Town Hall on Thursday!
The new Administration, led by unelected billionaire and DOGE head Elon Musk, continues to gut federal agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration, National Institutes of Health, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, making our country less safe.
I'm hosting a town hall this Thursday, February 20th at 6:30 p.m. in the Soda Activity Center at St. Mary's College in Moraga to discuss these harmful actions and how Democrats are fighting back on behalf of the American people. I'll also take your questions.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATES
Mark Opposes Republican Effort to Accelerate Process for Overturning Federal Regulations
Federal agencies routinely issue regulations to support people with disabilities, reduce pollution and fight climate change, protect the rights of workers, and advance other important priorities. The Congressional Review Act allows Congress and the President to overturn any federal regulation and prevent the issuing agency from ever releasing a similar regulation. Last week, House Republicans advanced a bill (H.R. 77) to make this process even quicker by allowing multiple regulations to be overturned at once. Despite the Congressman’s opposition, the bill passed the House by a vote of 212-to-208.
IN COMMITTEE
Mark Highlights the Importance of Protecting Delta Water
The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta provides fresh water to over 60% of the state’s population and is home to many ecologically significant species. At a recent House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure hearing, Congressman DeSaulnier reiterated the importance of the Clean Water Act in ensuring the proper balance between protecting species that live in the Delta, protecting native habitats and supplying water to communities. Mark also highlighted how climate change will continue to impact the Delta and the supply of clean drinking water across the country. To see his remarks, click here or on the image below.

Congressman DeSaulnier Discusses Roadway Safety and New Technology
In 2023, nearly 41,000 people died on the nation’s roadways. The Congressman has long prioritized improving roadway safety and at a recent Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure hearing, he shared how California successfully enacted policies to ban the use of cellphones while driving to better protect all roadway users. With innovation in technology, autonomous vehicles have started to enter the transportation space and spurred conversations around new policy to improve safety. While Mark has a history of supporting innovation, he is also focused on prioritizing safety when new technologies like autonomous vehicles are deployed on public roads.
