LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

Mark Authors Legislation to Fight Misinformation in Elections
As Americans continue to get more of their news on social media, online bots have greater potential to spread harmful misinformation. Congressman DeSaulnier authored the Bots Research Act (H.R. 10775), which would establish a taskforce to investigate the impact of bot accounts on elections and public discourse. The expansion of artificial intelligence makes it even more critical that we address the role of bots in spreading misinformation.
