The DeSaulnier Digest: Join Our Virtual Town Hall with AG Rob Bonta on August 5th

July 28, 2025
DeSaulnier Digest

This week marks the beginning of a month-long district work period where I will be here in CA-10 hosting town halls, meeting with constituents, and attending community events. I'm excited to announce our first town hall of the month will be a virtual town hall with special guest California Attorney General Rob Bonta on Tuesday, August 5th at 5:45 p.m

In the months since President Trump took office, the State of California and AG Bonta have led the charge to challenge the Administration's unconstitutional policies in court. I look forward to discussing how we can continue protecting Californians and all Americans from these harmful policies.

Click here or on the flyer below to RSVP and receive a Zoom link.

Stay tuned to this newsletter and our social media pages for updates on forthcoming events. I look forward to connecting with you this month!

IN COMMITTEE

DeSaulnier Highlights Critical Work of the Employee Benefits Security Administration
The Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) oversees retirement, health care, and other employee benefit plans for nearly 153 million Americans. Despite its vital mission and its ever-growing responsibilities, EBSA has consistently been underfunded and understaffed, particularly in recent months. At a recent Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions Subcommittee hearing, Mark discussed the need to ensure EBSA can continue its critical work on behalf of workers, retirees, and their families. ON THE FLOOR

Mark Speaks in Support of Coast Guard Funding
The Coast Guard Authorization Act (H.R. 4275) provides funding and support for Coast Guard missions, like law enforcement and search and rescue, and servicemembers for the next 5 years. Last week, Mark spoke on the House floor in support of this vital bill, and the important role the Coast Guard plays in search and rescue missions in the Bay Area and across the country. He also emphasized the need to support agencies that the Coast Guard collaborates with to protect people experiencing disasters or extreme weather events, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service. With his strong support, H.R. 4275 passed the House and is now under consideration in the Senate. To see his remarks, click here or on the image below.
