The DeSaulnier Digest: Join Our Walk and Talk Town Hall on Saturday
I'm looking forward to connecting with many of you at the Walk and Talk Town Hall that I am hosting at EBMUD's Lafayette Reservoir this Saturday, October 19th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In addition to our walk, I'll provide an update from Congress, including our efforts to lower costs, protect personal freedoms, and defend democracy.
We encourage you to bring your questions and your dogs to this special outdoor town hall!

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
Congressman DeSaulnier Authors Bill to Address Gun Violence
Gun violence is a public health epidemic, and addressing it requires scientific, evidence-based solutions like the ones we use to address other public health threats. Congressman DeSaulnier proudly authored the Gun Safety Board and Research Act (H.R. 9962), which would create a nonpartisan Gun Safety Board to conduct research and recommend unbiased gun safety policies. We cannot let politics stop us from protecting our communities, and Mark will continue fighting to pass crucial gun safety reforms like this bill.

Our office kicked off Diwali celebrations with the Contra Costa Desi Association in Concord this weekend. Although Diwali is later in October, events marking the festival of lights will continue throughout the month, and we were delighted to join the festivities.
