The DeSaulnier Digest: Kicking Off the 119th Congress

January 6, 2025
DeSaulnier Digest

As we begin a new session of Congress, I'm once again humbled and honored to represent California's 10th District in Congress. On January 3rd, shortly after House Republicans voted to re-elect Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House, I took the oath of office and was sworn into the 119th Congress. I'm eager to continue carrying your voices to Washington and to continue my efforts to support working Americans, protect our basic freedoms, and improve quality of life in the Bay Area.

I look forward to connecting with you at events in our community throughout the year. In the meantime, if I can be of assistance to you or your family, please do not hesitate to contact my office at (925) 933-2660.

Sincerely,

Mark DeSaulnier
Member of Congress

LEGISLATIVE UDPATES

DeSaulnier Introduces Bill to Promote Access to Exercise Facilities and Classes for Americans with Disabilities
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that Americans get 150 minutes of exercise per week, yet for many disabled Americans, exercise is impossible due to inaccessible equipment and facilities. This bill would create new federal guidelines on accessibility for exercise equipment and facilities, helping to promote equality for people with disabilities.

Mark Authors Bill to Address Nation's Mental Health Crisis
With one in five adults experiencing mental illness every year, we are in a crisis.
