The DeSaulnier Digest: Last Night's Town Hall and Democrats' Efforts to Save USPS
As President Trump and Postmaster General Louis DeJoy continue their political attacks on the United States Postal Service and Americans across the country experience delays in receiving their mail, I was joined by Harold Kelso, California State President of the National Association of Letter Carriers as well as Deborah Cooper, Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters, and Scott Konopasek, Assistant Registrar for a town hall discussion on the Postal Service and voting in Contra Costa.

PROTECTING THE POST OFFICE
To address the damage done by Postmaster General DeJoy and the Trump Administration, Democrats in the House of Representatives authored the Delivering for America Act, which would reverse the recent changes that resulted in delayed deliveries, prohibit future changes that would negatively impact the American people until after the election to protect the right to vote, and infuse the U.S. Postal Service with $25 billion. Congressman DeSaulnier supported this bill, which passed with bipartisan support by a vote of 257-to-150.
