The DeSaulnier Digest: My Health Story and More

September 28, 2020
DeSaulnier Digest

As the September legislative session draws to a close and House Democrats continue our work For The People, I sat down with Tal Kopan of the San Francisco Chronicle to share my story and give you my own account of what has gone on over the last few months with my health and the coronavirus pandemic. I have never been more honored to serve the residents of California's 11th district, and I am glad to be able to continue the good work we do together.

Sincerely,

Mark DeSaulnier
Member of Congress

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

House Passes Congressman DeSaulnier’s Effort to Support Workers Transitioning Out of Fossil Fuel Industry

The time is now for the fossil fuel industry to shift toward more sustainable sources of energy, but they cannot leave thousands of workers jobless in their wake. Congressman DeSaulnier authored an effort to bring community leaders, industry, environmental groups, and the workforce together to provide these workers with meaningful support to ensure they are not left behind. A grant like this would help Contra Costa better prepare for the impacts to the local workforce and economy from the recently announced changes at Marathon and Phillips 66. This effort was included in the Clean Economy Jobs and Innovation Act (H.R. 4447), which passed the House by a vote of 220-to-185. To learn more, click HERE.
