At a recent hearing before the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Congressman DeSaulnier spoke with passengers and aviation industry representatives to bring attention to the need to improve customer confidence in the whole aviation system. ON THE HOUSE FLOOR
DeSaulnier Opposes Attacks on Education
Last week, House Republicans advanced legislation that would impose burdensome requirements on schools and teachers and infringe on the ability of state and local governments to run their education systems in a way that best meets the needs of students. Congressman DeSaulnier voted against the "Politics Over Parents Act" (H.R. 5), which passed the House by a vote of 213-to-208. During his time in Congress, Mark has supported federal programs that promote a collaborative approach to education involving students, parents, and teachers.
Congressman DeSaulnier Again Votes to Protect Retirement Savings
Earlier this year, House Republicans attempted to overturn a federal regulation that allows investors to consider investing in companies based on their commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics. After President Biden vetoed this effort, Republicans this week attempted to overturn the veto. Congressman DeSaulnier opposed this effort that would harm investors, and House Republicans were unsuccessful in overriding the President's veto. Retirees and their financial advisors will continue to have the freedom to invest in ways that best suit their needs.
