The DeSaulnier Digest: A Productive District Work Period in CA-10

February 26, 2024
DeSaulnier Digest

Last week’s District Work Period afforded us the opportunity to be out in the community. We were busy as we continued our Education Listening Tour, began our Health Care Listening Tour, met with and shadowed UPS drivers in San Ramon, and hosted office hours in our Walnut Creek office to meet one-on-one with constituents. I’m looking forward to heading back to Washington later this week to continue efforts with my colleagues to keep our government open and working for the American people and I sincerely hope the Republican majority will join us.

Sincerely,

Mark DeSaulnier
Member of Congress

LEGISLATIVE UPDATES

Mark Introduces Legislation to Address Housing Supply Issues
In the Bay Area, housing affordability and supply shortages are affecting many, and working families have too few options that offer a reasonable commute to work. To help address this, Congressman DeSaulnier introduced the Housing Innovation Act (H.R. 7328), which would create an Office of Housing Innovation to provide resources and guidance to local governments, helping to increase and diversify the housing supply. The bill would also provide grants to communities to gather new ideas and formulate plans to add new housing options.
