The DeSaulnier Digest: Returning to DC after a Busy District Work Period
It's been a busy District Work Period in CA-10! I hosted four town halls and appreciated hearing your thoughts on women's rights, gun violence prevention, transportation, and the Supreme Court. I also celebrated funding I brought home for projects in our community, including to rehabilitate creek habitats in Lafayette, build a new park in Oakley, and improve facilities at Contra Costa Health's Concord Shelter. I also kicked off my Small Business Listening Tour in downtown Walnut Creek and spent time visiting community organizations in East County.
It was wonderful to connect with you at these events and more over the past month. As the legislative session picks back up, I am eager to bring your perspectives back with me to Capitol Hill and continue our work on behalf of you and the American people.
Sincerely,
Mark DeSaulnier
Member of Congress

LEGISLATIVE UPDATES
Congressman DeSaulnier Introduces Bill to Improve Patient Experience in Health Care
For patients with cancer and other chronic diseases, studies show that the patient experience is significantly improved when patient navigators help guide their care. In fact, 70% of studies in this area found a significant improvement in cancer treatment initiation when patients were enrolled in a patient navigation program. In order to expand access to patient navigation services, Congressman DeSaulnier introduced the Patient Navigation Assistance Act (H.R. 9446). The Congressman’s bill would require Medicaid to cover patient navigation services for those with cancer and other chronic diseases. Expanded access to these services would help improve the patient experience as well as health outcomes.
