The DeSaulnier Digest: State of the Union and a Busy Week in D.C.
Last week, I had the opportunity to attend President Biden's State of the Union address and hear him lay out Democrats' plans to continue supporting American families by lowering the costs of their everyday expenses and to support democracy at home and abroad by standing with the people of Ukraine against Vladimir Putin's unlawful, brazen, and horrific attacks on their sovereignty.
I was proud to have First 5 Contra Costa Executive Director Ruth Fernandez join me as my virtual guest in recognition of her work to support the education of children across the County.
Following the address, I was honored to have a few minutes to talk with the President. I look forward to continuing to work alongside him and my colleagues in Congress on behalf of the American people. As the President said, the state of our union is strong because the American people are strong. I am confident that despite our current challenges, our best days lie ahead.
Sincerely,
Mark DeSaulnier
Member of Congress
