Mark Hosts Town Hall on Refinery Safety
Congressman DeSaulnier hosted a town hall last week on Safety at Local Refineries to hear from Martinez residents and to have experts weigh in on recent refinery incidents that have led to two separate investigations. As a former air regulator, DeSaulnier understands how important clean air is to our health and is committed to protecting the quality of life and environment here in the Bay Area. CA-10 Celebrates Cesar Chavez Day
Our office joined the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisor’s 30th Annual Cesar E. Chavez Commemorative Celebration in recognition of Cesar Chavez's contributions to the Chicano Movement and advocacy for workers' rights. As a member of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, DeSaulnier is committed to promoting policies that support and promote the rights of workers across all industries.
DeSaulnier’s Office Joins 4CD’s Investiture Ceremony
Our office also attended the Contra Costa Community College District’s (4CD) Investiture Ceremony to congratulate the district’s new permanent Chancellor, Mojdeh Mehdizadeh. Mehdizadeh has been serving as the interim chancellor for 4CD since 2022 and has been committed to making sure students' voices are heard. It was a pleasure to welcome Mojdeh into her new role at last week's celebration.
Congressional Award Medal Presentation in the Walnut Creek Office
The Congressional Award is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a youth civilian by Congress and recognizes the extraordinary commitment they have made to bettering their community. Mark was proud to meet with our latest award recipient, Haley Blackman, and to learn more about her volunteer work.
