The DeSaulnier Digest: Upcoming Gun Violence Prevention Town Hall
Join us for a town hall on October 26th at 2:30 p.m. about local efforts that have proven successful in reducing gun violence in California and Contra Costa County, and how we can help to implement these policies nationwide. Special guests from the University of California Davis's Violence Prevention Research Program and Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence will be on hand, too. During the event, I'll also talk about my "Not Here" initiative, which would help use Contra Costa as a model for gun violence reduction across the country.

Sincerely,
Mark DeSaulnier

IN THE DISTRICT
Living Tribute in Recognition of Willie Mims
Mark participated in a living tribute in recognition of Pittsburg resident and community activist Willie Mims to present him with a Congressional Record for his commitment to the communities of Contra Costa and Solano Counties. As an original member of Pittsburg's Black Political Association and part of Executive Committee of the East County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Willie has worked tirelessly to support families and promote equity within the East Bay and this recognition is well deserved.

Virtual District Office Hours
Last week Congressman DeSaulnier hosted virtual mobile district office hours where constituents had a chance to meet one-on-one with him to discuss the most important issues within our community. If you're interested in meeting with Mark, stay tuned as we regularly host mobile district office hours and will announce future opportunities on social media.
