LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

Congressman DeSaulnier Votes to Advance Bipartisan Bills
Last week, the House of Representatives passed 4 bipartisan bills to make important improvements. Congressman DeSaulnier voted for all 4 bills, and you can read more about each one below:

  • Postal Service Reform Act (H.R. 3076) - Would improve the U.S. Postal Service's financial outlook, ensuring that the agency remains able to deliver packages and mail well into the future. The bill would also protect six-day delivery and promote transparency regarding on-time mail delivery.
  • Global Respect Act (H.R. 3485) - Would require the President to prevent foreign nationals who violate the human rights of LGBTQI+ people from entering into the United States.
  • Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act (H.R. 4445) - Would restore access to justice for survivors of workplace sexual harassment and sexual assault by allowing them to choose to file a case in a court of law, rather than be forced into the secretive and biased process of forced arbitration.
  • Further Additional Extending Government Funding Act (H.R. 6617) - Would avoid a government shutdown by authorizing a short-term extension of the budget until March 11th.
