The DeSaulnier Digest: Upcoming Town Hall - July 26, 2025
To discuss my efforts in Congress to fight back against Trump Administration policies that are undermining progress in the fight against climate change, like the recently passed Republican budget bill that includes provisions that will eliminate investments in clean energy infrastructure, I am hosting an outdoor Environmental Town Hall and Resource Fair on Saturday, July 26th in Oakley.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., local agencies and organizations will share resources on their work to protect the environment. At 10:30 a.m., I will provide an update and answer your questions on Democrats' efforts to protect our planet and we will hear about the work being done at the local level.
This event is RSVP only and the venue has limited capacity. Click here or on the flyer below to RSVP. Confirmed attendees will receive more information, including the exact location, prior to the event.

Sincerely,
Mark DeSaulnier
Member of Congress

Mark Hosts Emergency Town Hall on Republican Cuts to Critical Programs
Following passage of Republicans' Big Ugly Bill, that takes health care and food assistance from tens of millions of Americans in order to give tax breaks to the ultrawealthy, Mark hosted a virtual town hall to update constituents on how this reckless legislation could affect them and the work he and his Democratic colleagues are doing to limit the harm of Republican policies. Congressman DeSaulnier Visits Brentwood Health Center
The Republicans' Big Ugly Bill, that severely slashes Medi-Cal, will have devastating effects on local hospitals and care providers. To discuss the impact it will have on our community, Mark toured Brentwood Health Center and met with Contra Costa Health providers to discuss the support they need at the federal level in the face of these dangerous cuts.

IN THE NEWS
Mark Advocates for Increased Access to Mental Health Care
While millions of Americans struggle with mental health, far too many are unable to get the same insurance coverage for these health issues as they are for physical health issues. To address this disparity, Representatives DeSaulnier and Bobby Scott (D-VA), the top Democrat on the House Committee on Education and Workforce, introduced a bill that would require disability insurers to treat behavioral health and substance addiction claims the same way they treat other medical claims. This bill would be an important step toward ending the stigma surrounding mental health and ensuring Americans can get the care they deserve. The Wall Street Journal covered our efforts.
