House Passes Bill to Improve Veterans' Access to Mental Health Care
The transition from military to civilian life can be stressful for many veterans. To help simplify the process and ensure veterans have timely access to mental health support, Congressman DeSaulnier voted to pass the Ensuring Veterans' Smooth Transition (EVEST) Act (H.R. 4673) to automatically enroll eligible service members in VA health care upon their separation from service. The bill passed by a total of 265-to-163 with the Congressman's support.
