Two weeks ago, Democrats in the House passed the HEROES Act to provide our communities with the resources they need to continue combatting the coronavirus epidemic and keep our economy running. The Republican-controlled Senate is refusing to consider it – adding it to the mounting Senate legislative graveyard. Despite the Senate’s inaction, this week the House will vote on proposals to improve and expand the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to help give businesses the resources they need to make it through this crisis.
On the local level, Contra Costa Health Services recently released new guidance on next steps for easing the current stay-at-home order. Under this new guidance, retail establishments can now offer storefront pick-up, and manufacturing, warehousing, and logistical operations that support these retailers can resume with some modifications to ensure worker safety. You can read more information about this new order here.
As new resources and information become available, we will continue to update the coronavirus resources section of our website here. As always, if our office can be of assistance to you, please contact us at (925) 933-2660.
