DeSaulnier continued August District Work Period by hosting a town hall at Contra Costa Animal Services to provide updates on the work being done in Congress to protect animals big and small and to hear from representatives of the shelter about the important services they provide in our community. Congressman Desaulnier Shares Personal Experience Following Biden Administration Action to Lower Drug Costs
Last week the Biden Administration unveiled the 10 prescription drugs that will be eligible for price negotiation, a major step forward in the implementation of legislation that passed last year aimed at lowering drug prices for Medicare beneficiaries. Included on the list is a drug the Congressman used to take as a cancer survivor. While this drug costs only about $40 a day in Australia, patients in the U.S. pay up to $500 a day for it. Mark spoke with the San Francisco Chronicle about why the Administration's action is so critical for Americans like him who have relied on these medications.
