To address the public health crisis of gun violence in the United States, I hosted a town hall this week with special guests from U.C. Davis's Violence Prevention Research Program and Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. The panelists provided their expertise on evidence-based solutions to gun violence and we discussed my new initiative, Not Here, which would help communities across the country implement gun violence reduction policies that have proven successful in places like Contra Costa County so we can end this crisis nationwide. Congressman DeSaulnier Tours Stanford's Cancer Center
Congressman DeSaulnier visited Stanford Health last week for a tour of their world-class Cancer Center and to learn more about the work Stanford is doing to provide personalized and compassionate care to patients. As a cancer survivor and co-founder and co-chair of the House Cancer Survivors Caucus, Mark is working to ensure cancer patients have access to the treatment they need and that cancer survivors are supported in their recovery.

DeSaulnier Speaks with the Irish American Cultural Club of Rossmoor
The Congressman joined the Rossmoor community and fellow Irish Americans as they welcomed Jen Chadwick to her new position as Irish Vice Consul of San Francisco. Congressman DeSaulnier was honored to provide remarks to the Irish American Cultural Club of Rossmoor and gather with Rossmoor residents in celebration of Irish culture and heritage.

First 5's Fall Harvest Celebration
Our office joined First 5 Contra Costa to celebrate the opening of their new space in Concord. This event gave us a chance to meet with local advocates and partners and reflect on First 5's critical work to support children and families in our community.

Multicultural Wellness Walk at Contra Loma Regional Park
We joined East Bay Regional Parks District for a Multicultural Wellness Walk last weekend at Contra Loma Regional Park. It was a pleasure to celebrate Día de los Muertos with the East County community, share memories of our ancestors and loved ones, and enjoy one of our many beautiful regional parks.
