Congressman DeSaulnier to Host Town Hall on Addressing the Growing Behavioral and Mental Health Crisis

Walnut Creek, CA – Today, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) announced he will host a town hall tomorrow, August 17^th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. PT on addressing the growing behavioral and mental health crisis as the pandemic and the Olympics have shone a spotlight on this issue. The event will be held live on Zoom and on Congressman DeSaulnier's Facebook page (facebook.com/repmarkdesaulnier).

Congressman DeSaulnier will be joined by the following special guest experts in the field to discuss mental health issues and available support, including:

• Dr. Suzanne Tavano, Director of Contra Costa Behavioral Health Services
• Dr. Elissa Epel, Professor of Psychiatry at UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences

This will be Congressman DeSaulnier's 135^th town hall and mobile district office hour since coming to Congress. Contra Costa residents will have an opportunity to submit questions before the town hall and live throughout the event.
