DeSaulnier Statement on Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Appointment to House Education Committee

Walnut Creek, CA – Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11), a member of the U.S. House Committee on Education and Labor, issued the following statement today in response to the appointment of Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-14) to the committee.

"QAnon supporter Marjorie Taylor Greene, a sitting Member of Congress, claimed the mass shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary and Stoneman High School were fabricated. She accosted 17-year old Parkland High School survivor David Hogg, and expressed support for the murder of Speaker Pelosi. It is absolutely unacceptable that Republican Leadership appointed her to the Education Committee, which is responsible for the safety and care of America's children. I call on Majority Leader McCarthy to immediately strip her of her committee assignments. We have to do everything possible to rid our government institutions of conspiracy theories and threats of violence."
