SHUTDOWN UPDATE
As you know, the federal government shutdown began at midnight last Friday. This is the first shutdown in the history of the United States when one party has control of the House, Senate, and White House. This evening, a bipartisan agreement was reached to continue funding the government for three weeks until February 8th. Below is my statement on the vote:

This week, two major pieces of legislation were considered in Congress that will have a significant impact on every household and the country as a whole. Although the Republicans in the House passed their version on November 16th, and the Senate is expected to vote as early as this week, we wanted to take the time to provide you with a special edition of our weekly newsletter to provide answers to the common questions I have been asked about the plan.
