I hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July. To continue commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we are hosting a Town Hall in Brentwood tomorrow evening, July 7th at 6:30 p.m. I hope you will join us for this conversation about our country's founding and the work ahead to create a more perfect union for all Americans.
Let me be the first to wish you a happy early Independence Day! We're just over a week away from ourin-person town hall in Brentwood on Tuesday, July 7th at 6:30 p.m. marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
As we approach mid-year, I am looking back on a packed six months in the East Bay and at the US Capitol. Already this year, I have hosted 10 town halls, and across CA-10, my team and I have attended 157 community events.
I am back in the East Bay this week and looking forward to our two upcoming town halls - an AANHPI Town Hall in Dublin this Wednesday and a virtual America 250 Town Hall with special guest Jeffrey Rosen this Thursday.
I am excited to share that I am hosting an in-person town hall Wednesday, June 17th from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. in Dublin to recognize and celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) history and culture with expert special guests. Join us for a wide-ranging discussion on issues impacting the AANHPI community, including immigration, the economy, and racial equity.
As we wrap up another packed week here in the East Bay, I am grateful for all the constituents who I connected with this week, and I am looking forward to community events our office is planning in the coming weeks and throughout the summer.
We are rapidly approaching our next opportunity to connect in-person and discuss the issues most important to our community. Like many in our community, I was shocked and horrified to learn of the allegations of abuse against former Bay Area Congressman Eric Swalwell. Serving our communities in Congress is a privilege and sacred duty to the public, and the alleged actions of Mr. Swalwell and others makes them unfit to serve in this sacred office.
Like many of you, I was horrified by President Trump's threats of war crimes last week, and I swiftly called for his removal and reiterated my support for impeachment efforts. While I was relieved that Trump did not carry out these threats, I continue to believe he is unfit to hold our country's highest office.
