DeSaulnier Digest
Like many of you, I am concerned about the actions the new Administration has already taken and the threats they pose to our most vulnerable communities and to our economy. I am hosting a town hall to discuss the path forward under this new Administration on Thursday, January 30th at 6:30 p.m. in Walnut Creek.

IN THE NEWS
As we begin a new session of Congress, I'm once again humbled and honored to represent California's 10th District in Congress. On January 3rd, shortly after House Republicans voted to re-elect Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House, I took the oath of office and was sworn into the 119th Congress. I'm eager to continue carrying your voices to Washington and to continue my efforts to support working Americans, protect our basic freedoms, and improve quality of life in the Bay Area.
As 2024 comes to a close, I'm proud of all we've accomplished and grateful for the opportunities to connect with you throughout the year. While our office will be physically closed between December 24th and January 1st, our team is still available to assist you. Please do not hesitate to contact us at (925) 933-2660 if we can be of service
We are sending warm wishes to all in CA-10 for a joyous and safe holiday season with family and loved ones.
As many of you know, our District Director, Shanelle Scales-Preston, leaves in the coming weeks to become a County Supervisor after 10 years of service in our office and more than 10 years before that with my predecessor, former Congressman George Miller. I am excited to announce that starting in January our current Deputy District Director, Janessa Oriol will be assuming the role of District Director. Ryan-Thomas Brown will continue his vital work as Deputy District Director overseeing our constituent casework portfolio.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I have been reflecting on my gratitude for being an American citizen and having the honor of representing you in Congress. The great American experiment in democracy means we as citizens have the right to peacefully make our voices heard through the ballot box, and for that, I am grateful.
I hope you are able to gather with loved ones this holiday season for good food and conversation.
Best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I am hosting a Veterans Town Hall and Resource Fair this Friday, November 22nd from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Center for Community Arts Auditorium in Walnut Creek.
From 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., I'll provide an update on my efforts in Congress to pass legislation that supports veterans and take your questions. Following that, federal and local agencies and veteran service organizations will share resources on accessing the benefits veterans have earned from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In commemoration of Veterans Day, our team and I joined community events throughout our district to recognize the men and women who bravely fought for our country and upheld the values we cherish.
On the eve of Election Day, I encourage you one last time to make your voice heard through our democratic process. I am reminded of the great Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis who said that the most important title in our country is that of citizen. As fellow citizens, I hope you will join me in exercising your right to vote.
