Over the past week, we were busy at events and meetings across Contra Costa County, working on some of the most pressing issues facing our community. Below is a snapshot of the events and meetings we attended.

Last week, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 4, a bill that reauthorizes the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for five years, continues investments in airports, and makes necessary safety reforms, by a vote of 393-to-13. As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I fought for and included several critical safety measures to help prevent runway accidents. The U.S. has seen an alarming 83 percent increase in runway incursions between 2011 and 2017 as well as a series of near misses.

Dear Contra Costa Residents:
I am proud to represent a community that is as civically engaged as Contra Costa County. Over the past two weeks, at events across our district, I have been listening to constituents who have expressed concerns about the actions taken by the Trump Administration, the gun violence epidemic plaguing our nation, ways we can actively grow our economy, and much more.
During our district work period, we met with and assisted over 4,200 constituents. Below is a report of our work across Contra Costa County over the last two weeks:
