With voting rights under attack across the country, I will be hosting a virtual town hall on Thursday, January 27^that 7:15 p.m. with Representative Barbara Lee to discuss Democrats' efforts to protect the constitutional right to vote.

Yesterday, Contra Costa and communities across the country celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I was proud to join the Pittsburg community in remembering his remarkable life and service, and speak about the work ahead to ensure his dream is one day realized. This past week, we recognized the first anniversary of one of the darkest days in our country's history. Since the attack on the U.S. Capitol, Democrats have continued our efforts to protect our democracy, hold those responsible to account, and restore trust in our government.

As we look ahead to the new year, I am proud to share a report of our community engagement, legislative accomplishments, and constituent services from 2021. I am also excited to provide an update on how the recently-passed Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will impact the Bay Area as well as the progress Democrats are making to advance the Build Back Better Act, a major and badly-needed investment in American families.
