IMMIGRATION TOWN HALL
On Wednesday, October 6th at 6:00 p.m., join me for an Immigration Town Hall where I will provide an update on the latest efforts in Congress to advance comprehensive and compassionate immigration reform. Representatives from Catholic Charities, Stand Together Contra Costa, Jewish Family and Community Services East Bay, Haitian Bridge Alliance, and Contra Costa Asian Pacific Islander Advocacy Coalition will be on hand to answer questions and provide resources, including for recently evacuated Afghans and Haitian migrants.
AT A GLANCE
In this week's Digest, you will find information on:
The Bay Area, as the second largest oil refining center on the West Coast, has a unique role to play in the fight against climate change and the transition to clean energy. On Wednesday, September 22nd at 6:00 p.m. PT, I am hosting a town hall on the New Energy Economy and Contra Costa to discuss the impact the transition will have on our area, which is home to four oil refineries, and my efforts in Congress to support the workforce so that no one gets left behind as we move to a clean energy future.
This weekend, I joined our community in commemorating the 20th anniversary of 9/11. At each of these events, we came together and remembered in a special way all those lost on that tragic day, their loved ones, and the first responders whose heroism saved lives. We will never forget.
Sincerely,
Mark DeSaulnier
Member of Congress
