CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Last week, Congress voted to provide $8 billion in emergency funding to support federal, state, and local public health officials to combat the spread of coronavirus. That includes nearly $3 billion for the development of treatments and a vaccine, and $300 million to ensure that any vaccine is affordable. The funding package quickly passed the House with Mark's support and was signed into law.

Today, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) and Congressman Ruben Gallego (AZ-7) introduced the Restore Veterans’ Compensation Act, legislation that would prevent the federal government from forcing veterans to return separation pay if they later qualify for VA disability benefits.

Today, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) announced that the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship voted to request a report from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a first step toward considering H.R. 4225, a bill to allow Isabel Bueso and her family to remain in the United States so Isabel can continue to receive treatment for her rare, life-threatening disease.
