I will be joined by special guest Magnus Lofstrom, Lead Criminal Justice Researcher at the Public Policy Institute of California who will provide evidence-based research.
Last Thursday, the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol unveiled its initial findings of their bipartisan investigation to the public. Ahead of the historic hearing, I joined ABC7's Kristen Sze to discuss my experience from inside the Capitol that day and how we can ensure such horrific events are never repeated.
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) announced that the U.S. House of Representatives passed the bill he authored that would allow Isabel Bueso and her family to remain in the United States so Isabel can continue to receive treatment for her rare, life-threatening disease (H.R. 785). Isabel’s story rose to national prominence when the Trump Administration cancelled deferred action, which led to people like her with rare, life-threatening diseases facing deportation. The bill must be passed by the U.S.

As the effects of the pandemic led to a doubling of American households with children facing food insecurity, I have been working alongside some of my Democratic colleagues to address these inequities. Last summer, I welcomed Chairman of the House Committee on Rules, Co-Chair of the House Hunger Caucus, and longtime food equity advocate Congressman Jim McGovern (MA-02) to Contra Costa County to showcase Bay Area efforts to end hunger, which can serve as a national model.
