AT A GLANCE
In this week's Digest you will find more information on:
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I have been reflecting on my gratitude for being an American citizen and having the honor of representing you in Congress. The great American experiment in democracy means we as citizens have the right to peacefully make our voices heard through the ballot box, and for that, I am grateful.
I hope you are able to gather with loved ones this holiday season for good food and conversation.
Best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I am hosting a Veterans Town Hall and Resource Fair this Friday, November 22nd from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Center for Community Arts Auditorium in Walnut Creek.
From 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., I'll provide an update on my efforts in Congress to pass legislation that supports veterans and take your questions. Following that, federal and local agencies and veteran service organizations will share resources on accessing the benefits veterans have earned from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In commemoration of Veterans Day, our team and I joined community events throughout our district to recognize the men and women who bravely fought for our country and upheld the values we cherish.
On the eve of Election Day, I encourage you one last time to make your voice heard through our democratic process. I am reminded of the great Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis who said that the most important title in our country is that of citizen. As fellow citizens, I hope you will join me in exercising your right to vote.
It has been a busy few weeks in the district hearing from constituents, visiting local organizations and businesses, and hosting town halls.
With only one week until Election Day, I'm reminding you to exercise your right to vote by heading to the polls or returning your ballot by next Tuesday, November 5th. Our democracy depends on American citizens making their voices heard through free and fair elections.
Sincerely,
As Election Day approaches, I encourage you to make your voice heard by heading to the polls or returning your ballot by Tuesday, November 5th. The right to vote is foundational to our democracy, and many Americans have fought for the right of all citizens to freely cast their ballots.
I'm looking forward to connecting with many of you at the Walk and Talk Town Hall that I am hosting at EBMUD's Lafayette Reservoir this Saturday, October 19th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In addition to our walk, I'll provide an update from Congress, including our efforts to lower costs, protect personal freedoms, and defend democracy.
October marks the start of another District Work Period for the House of Representatives. This month, I will be hosting town halls, office hours, and listening tours around our community.
This past week, I was thrilled to announce that the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) will receive over $166 million in funding from the Department of Transportation (DOT) that I advocated for to improve safety, reduce congestion, and reduce air pollution along the I-680 corridor through Contra Costa County.
