IN THE COMMUNITY​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The new Administration proposed an illegal federal funding freeze last week that would impact essential government programs ranging from Meals on Wheels to Head Start. Although it has been temporarily stopped by the courts, this funding freeze remains a threat to programs that serve the American people. 

Over the past week, the new Administration has issued a flurry of concerning executive orders that would harm the American people, including by raising health care costs for seniors, levying reckless tariffs that will drive up consumer prices, threatening immigrant and LGBTQ+ communities, and rolling back progress on climate change.

Like many of you, I am concerned about the actions the new Administration has already taken and the threats they pose to our most vulnerable communities and to our economy. I am hosting a town hall to discuss the path forward under this new Administration on Thursday, January 30^th at 6:30 p.m. in Walnut Creek.
