As communities across the country demand action to end racial injustice, I am proud to say that Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives acted decisively by passing the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. Read below to see my thoughts after I cast my vote in support of this important legislation.
In the midst of the demonstrations to draw attention to racial injustice and the need for police reform, our nation also celebrated Juneteenth. Watch below as I reflect on the history of Juneteenth and the history and implications of racism in the United States.
