Last week, a group of extreme, MAGA Republicans brought business in the House to a halt. Frustrated by Speaker McCarthy's deal with President Biden to raise the debt limit, these Members refused to vote on any legislation their party brought to the Floor.
In the meantime, House Democrats are committed to continuing our work to advance policies that benefit the American people.
Sincerely,
Mark DeSaulnier
Member of Congress
IN COMMITTEE
Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to meet with constituents and give a congressional update at our town hall at Big Break Regional Park in Oakley. We are grateful to the naturalists at East Bay Regional Park District for leading a group nature walk and providing information on the local plants and wildlife native to the Park.
Thank you to everyone who came out! We look forward to hosting more town halls and other events in the community soon.
This weekend we joined the community for Memorial Day events around the district. I was proud to spend the day with servicemembers, veterans, and members of our community, and to recognize those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.
If you are a veteran and are ever in need of assistance with the benefits you have earned and deserve, we welcome you to reach out to our offices in Walnut Creek or Antioch by phone at (925) 933-2660.
